The Case of Startitis

First things first...Baby girl turned 6 last week.  Where the time went, I'm not sure.  But there ya go, she is getting all grown up.  I am confounded daily by her grace, willingness to give and her spontaneous sense of humor.  I'm humbled that we've been blessed with this wonderful child.  She took to the roller skates like duck to water.  Girlfriend will be tearing up the sidewalks in no time on her new wheels.

James finally scored a run in one of his games.  This is his HALLELUJAH! kicking up his heels dance after crossing home plate.  For James, baseball has not bitten him hard in the competitive rear, so to speak.  He is happiest just having fun and celebrating these little moments.

Now for the case of startitis...I've completed almost an entire sweater.  I knit this out of burnt orange Baby Grande Alpaca.  It is gorgeously sumptuous and oh-so-delicious against the skin.

I'm lacking knitting two sleeves.  I need to finish it, but have gone on to do other projects.  Startitis...the activity of starting new projects without completing current projects.  I haz it.

This was the start of a baby blanket out of hand dyed Briar Rose sportweight superwash wool.  You read that right "THE START".  I've not had the heart to go back and try to finish it.   I need to.  There is a baby to be born soon and it will need this blanket.

The Tunisian Crochet Butterfly scarf I'm OHSOOOOOCLOSE to being completed with Briar Rose Worsted Superwash wool that I bought out of my LYS owners personal stash.  I need to finish this scarf since it is a gift.  It lacks maybe an hour or so of crocheting.

I've cast-on my Leif Slipover, which is a super bulky vest hoodie using big needles and big yarn.  The pattern is a little tricky for me, so I've had to write out the entire chart pattern in long hand.  Add to the fact that it takes some serious attention to keep track of where I am in the pattern, this project doesn't get worked on unless I'm on a very quiet work project.  This is not a kid friendly pattern.  I plan to finish this by wintertime though.  I'm itching to wear it when the weather cools back off.

There you have it!  You are completely caught up on the Handy Happenings in the Hooking World!  Hope your week goes well.  We are settling into baseball season and looking forward to summertime and strawberries!

  3. I think we all sometimes suffer from startitis. Just make yourself finish one WIP before the next start :).
