Halloween 2005, I had to work Halloween evening, so I missed the festivities. Jon mentioned doing some decorations and I waved him off and he did his thing with his brother, Josh.
Halloween 2006, I realized I needed to um, well, step in and keep things under control. Someone, ahem, not mentioning names, got a bunch of metal. Metal like warehouses use to stack boxes of merchandise. Now I knew Jon was handy and his "decorations" that year went a little beyond my abilities to assure people we were normal.

By Halloween 2007, I'd given up trying to convince anybody we were normal.

And Halloween 2008, I embraced the fact that during Halloween, it was physically impossible to go out my front door to normalcy.
Halloween 2009, Jon was on a mission to get on the news. I set up the tripod and we sent in a picture of our house Halloween "decorations". He made the 10 o'clock news with a short blurb about fun Halloween happenings.
Halloween 2010, the Castle survived a storm with 60mph winds and gusts. A tunnel was added to the interior of the castle, taking up precious space in my garage. Jon built a skull chair out of 2X6's that is so heavy it take two men and a boy to lift or a dolly. Jon has YET to get on the news.
Halloween 2011...The Castle is up.
What else is there to say?

Favorite line EVER: By Halloween 2007, I'd given up trying to convince anybody we were normal.
(I made the mistake of showing your blog to my husband. He kept saying "AWESOME. AWESOME.")
