12 in 12 Book Update: Bella's Mittens Finished!!!

Bella's Mittens were fun to do. As if you couldn't tell that with how many times I blogged about them! But this baby is put to bed and done. I have another skein of Lamb's Pride that I'll make another pair, but it isn't part of the 12 in 12.

Overall, I'd rate this project as an “easy with skills” project. The mittens took me about 8 hours each. Each mitten has 1 mistake in them. I follow that rule of always making a mistake in every FO. I showed them to a friend that knits and asked her to find the mistakes. She couldn't find them, so I feel good about sending them onto the Giveaway Winner, Summer.

I'm ready to go on to the next 12 in 12 project. Which I believe will be the Vampire Tote. Overall, this 12 in 12 is going like gangbusters. June I did the Werewolf Hat and Palm Readers. July I finished Bella’s Mittens. Doing a purse for August will be completely doable, since I’m on a 4am-1pm work shift. Know how much knitting can be done in between 4am and 8am when the rest of the world wakes up? LOTS!

Kids have been busy fishing. Based on the number of chigger bites and poison ivy breakouts, they have spent way too much time pondside. Jon finds himself exhausted after these fishing trips. You’d think fishing would mean hours of sitting waiting for the fish to bite. Not with the kids. Jesse will line fish, which means she has a line with a hook on the end with a worm and she hand tosses it out near the bank and trolls for blue gill. James spends his time checking the blue gill bucket, taking the fish off the hook for Jesse and doing a little line fishing also. Jon has to contend with 6 poles in the water, kids fishing in the shallows, hungry tummies, biting fish and well, he comes home a tired, happy man.

I’m blessed they enjoy the activity together. Momma goes to bed early and gets some sleep.

Hope your weekend has gone well. I got several “tell me more” button pushes on the videos. If you have a specific request, let me know. I’ll video the technique for you.

Lovely in that warm orangey colour. And I appreciate the poses with an apple; it's a very nice touch!

I have a friend who is obsessed with mittens. Completely obsessed, has a pair in every colour to wear with everything. So I am sure if I was to show her your beautiful bella mittens, that she would insist on a pair for her birthday next year, so I will save myself the drama of her begging and pleading and just add it to my queue.

They are beautiful.

Such a pretty colorway for your mittens! They really turned out stunning and as far as I am concerned, if no one sees the mistake, it isn't there...lol!

Gosh, you're going like a house on fire !! Those mittens are absolutely beautiful - so warm looking. I could do with something like those as its still very cold here in Canberra (Australia) and we are still getting minus zero temperatures in the early mornings. Love the colour too.
