Paleo

I've mentioned my health issues briefly. Basically, when I eat out, I get horrible pains and am in the bathroom within 20 minutes. It goes straight through me. After a battery of tests by the doctor, they determined I should have my gallbladder out. There were a couple of problems with that, mainly I didn't want to have my gallbladder out. In a little itty note on my gallbladder ultrasound was a notation that my issues could be due to food allergy.

My friend Meghan mentioned my symptoms sounded a lot like hers and she tried and had success with the Paleo diet.

I was already slowly doing the elimination diet, when Meghan did a Challenge. 30 days hardcore Paleo. She seemed to be preaching to the choir because the past month she has spent quite a bit of time giving tips and all kinds of great advice on how to make this 30 Challenge a success.

I teased her that I'd need my hand held throughout the whole process. I've never been on a diet. Ever. "Hi, my name is Sara. I'm almost 33 and never dieted a day in my life.". Lucky me. I've been on a cruise ship to this day, though. It is time to clean up and get on to eating better.

Good bye, tortilla chips! Good bye, chocolate chip cookie dough! Say it ain't so!

If I'm cranky, bitchy or whiny over the next month, blame it on the Paleo diet. Okay, it's not IF. I am gonna be.

I'm sharing my stats. I'd post a pic, but I'll save you from running screaming from your computer. Definitely winter pale. Hips: 37.5" Stomach: 34.75" Chest: 36.5" Arm: 10" Thigh: 20" Weight: 122.5

My only goal, besides figuring out this food allergy is to lose some stomach inches. Holy moly, there's Aunt Poly!

It's gonna be interesting. Please don't tell me I don't blankety blank blank. I know. I am blessed with good metabolism. Things just didn't go back the way they were suppose to after Jesse. I suspect my health issues started then too. Time to get my body back on track and I'm educated enough to know this is a good way and a good shot at making a difference.

Jon is doing the challenge with me.

Sharing is always good for the soul, right? You wanted to know, you needed to know, you want me on that wall. Wait. Um, *crickets*

Main note: Zack is fine, his convoy survived an IED attack. Please keep him in your prayers.

  1. I;m actually really interested in this. Colin has stomach issues that the doctors (including a GI specialist) just keep passing off as him having to use the bathroom. They haven't run ANY tests. I've been saying for a long time I need to change his diet, but it's sooooo overwhelming!

    Good Luck!

  2. Good luck! Dieting to feel good and be healthy is something I maybe should look into. I wish there was more mainstream education on what exactly is in food, you know? That would help a lot in figuring out allergies...plus I bet we'd all eat better. But I do loves me some Girl Scout Cookies.
