J&J, Jon and I went to Lake Shawnee to spend a day with Aunt Judy and Uncle Jerry. They live on the lake and have a dock, boat, tubes, slide and just the perfect set-up for an August afternoon in the sun. Aunt Judy said to call her when we were on our way (it's about 30 minutes from our house to hers). After Jon got off the phone he said, "I guess they are having Kelli's birthday party today, too." So, we totally crashed Jon's cousin's birthday party sans present. She got lots of nice stuff though and seemed to enjoy spending the day with my two hoodlums.

James LOVED tubing. He went around the entire lake. Jon wrapped his legs around him to keep him in the tube. James enjoyed the bumps and any wild thing Uncle Jerry could throw his way. Next time, I'm sure James will go in the tube by himself. Momma is scared.

This was Jesse's face the entire time James was tubing. Girlfriend was projecting what I was feeling. OH NO! haha!

Then it was Jesse's turn. See how far back my baby is? Momma can't swim that fast, but by golly I was ready to pull her back in at the slightest frown.

Uncle Jerry drove the boat real easy for her, though. She did wonderful until this....

Then she SMILED really really big. She loved it.

James kept an eagle eye on Jesse the entire time.
It was a great day and we were so happy to be invited. Great people. Good times.
Not a lick of knitting got done on Sunday, due to our lake outing. We were there for 8 hours. I am working on uploading all my projects to Flickr and will have that added to the sidebar soon.
Hope all is well in your world!
Peace and Crazy Neighbor Mowed My Yard AGAIN!
I vote yes to "barnacle balls" addition to the family lexicon. You can come up with the daffynition . . . and run it by the "committee" (Ben and Zak) who will relate completely!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou're so weird, Mom.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun day! I love that everyone involved in the story except for you has a "J" name. I know that mama bear feeling when you let them out there on the tube...I had that feeling when we went tubing while camping with friends when Lucas was 2. He had less fear about it than I did :)
ReplyDeleteAlso...how sweet are Jesse and James watching over each other out there?
Finally, I think I just might have to adopt barnacle balls...it would probably work better than some of the things I would like to say :)
