Giveaway!

It's my birthday and blog anniversary! Give me a big woot woot!

Today in celebration I not only got all the birthday wishes from my lovely blog followers, I got over 30 birthday wishes from my gorgeous facebook friends, and the icing on the cake was the awesome welders on the jobsite singing Happy Birthday to me at 6:30 this morning.

I am home and have hugged my kids and Jon, been groped and ogled by Jon, kissed my kitties and opened my present from my Sis. (I got a canning set from her. :D) So, life is good and I want to spread the happiness.

Amanda Soule's book is awesome. End of story. It is all about living simple, living frugal, living. You can feel the heartbeat of the home in her blog, in her book, in her words and in her projects. I love it.

Hippies aren't the only ones that carry their babies in slings. Busy moms find it easier to strap a baby to them than have to wield the stroller on outings. The sling is the answer to this need. This project is simple and can be made in an afternoon.

Repurposing a pillowcase to make a toddler dress is about the most awesome idea ever. Mama Soule shows you how in this book.

I love banners and this banner is simple, easy to make and fun for everyone because it can be modified so many ways. Mama Soule gives you the tools to create this banner and voila personalize it to your event.
How about it? Wanna win Amanda Soule's autographed book? Leave me a comment telling me what inspires you.
Also the lucky winner will be able to request a hat, scarf, OR arm warmers that I will personally make for them.
Love my blog readers! Thank you so much for making this past year so much fun and encouraging me each and every day with your wonderful comments!
Peace and Bloggy Love!
Edited to add: Giveaway ends a week from today at 5PM EST. :)

I'm inspired (for my crafty work) by bright colors and children's clothing. Some of the coolest color combinations happen on their outfits that I would never think of on my own.

Hmm... Inspiration...

Well, everything is inspirational to me. Music, books, movies are sort of obvious ideas, but things like people watching, learning from friends, my dreams, the way people drive, watching kids interact, animals together, the weather, all sorts of things.

Not every moment of every day knocks the wind out of me and makes me feel like hopping on the computer to bang out the next Pride and Prejudice, but I feel like they accumulate, little pieces every day until I get the perfect stockpile.

Oh, and when I get stuck, I go to this awesome person named Sara and she politely tells me what sucks and what doesn't...

As far as inspiration I see it everywhere. god is my inspiration in all the beautiful things he created for us. Family, trees, birds, flowers and everything around us is filled with beauty.

Happy Biethday and Blogaversary too!!!! Woo!

I can be inspired by anything. Seeing the texture of leaves in a bush or tree, different colors of birds for color combos, trying to re-create in crochet the lace or different things I've seen in the store, but mostly what inspires me is my kids. They are the reason I get up everyday and do everything I do, be it crafty or otherwise. :)

Happy Birthday and Blog-iversary, Sara! You are an amazing woman.

Though music plays a large part in my inspirations, the ultimate source comes from mistakes. I see a flaw, and the gears start turning on how I might improve and find the beauty that lies within something that is 'wrong'. It is the driving force in all aspects of my life, from creating, to problem-solving, to life in and of itself.
